David Z is a Brooklyn, NY native raised in a family of musicians. It is with his older brother Paulie that he formed his original band ZO2. The band gained quick notoriety when they were asked to perform on the 40-city, 3-month long VH-1 Rock The Nation Tour with KISS and Poison! Since then, ZO2 has released 3 albums, toured the country, and are most recently known for a TV series that they starred in called Z-Rock, which aired for 2 seasons on the Independent Film Channel. The show is a semi-scripted, based-on-a-true story comedy in which the band play themselves as a rock band by night and a children’s band by day. David has been a children’s entertainer for years, which helped mold the idea for the show.

In addition to ZO2, David Z is also the bass player for the widely successful sold-out tour and platinum-selling
Trans-Siberian Orchestra. When not on tour with TSO, he is rocking out in tight spandex with the very popular '80s tribute band Rubix Kube, which puts on a show that makes you swear you went back in time and relived the amazing music of the '80s.

In 2002, David joined
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, touring in and out of the country including stops in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Oman with the USO.

In addition to being a veteran live touring musician, David is also an accomplished studio session player. With a bachelor’s degree in music from Brooklyn College, David has played on numerous recordings including singer
Joe Lynn Turner, Wind-Up Records artist Seven Wiser, and works for USA and ESPN.

David Z has made other TV appearances on shows like
Good Morning America, Regis and Kelly, The Today Show, and QVC, and has been a presenter with ZO2 for the 2009 Independent Spirit Awards. In addition to being a musician and actor, David has also dove into modeling work. David revealed it all in a spread for Playgirl Magazine in 2002. They always say that sex and rock ‘n’ roll are inseparable, and David Z nailed that point home!

David joined
Jeff Scott Soto’s solo band for the Damage Control tour in 2013 which was followed by another tour in 2014. Now he plays a crucial role in the band SOTO and looks forward to the next stages of his career.
